About 20 years ago I also wrote such letters to my first wife when we couldn't see each other for a while.
Those were letters of that cheesy kind, with all those sweet words and tears on the paper.
That was still in the good times before she broke my heart and trampled on my soul. I have been happily married to my second wife for a long time now, but that has remained a dark spot in my heart that never heals.
In some quiet moments it still hurts.
