They were so preoccupied that i was able to pick the stalk and carry it over to my friend for him to take some pics too.

I've been around the block a few times, but I'm trying desperately to figure out just how they're 'mating'---is this a new position? It looks reeeeeealllly difficult! Anyway, amazing shot, it's so acrobatic and I love the balance between their heads and wings, and those long extended bodies. So you carried the branch to that man, and the flies stayed in place? (That's concentration!) Terrific shot. I love the guy blurred back there. Great hat too...
