in actuality they all were driven by electric motors.. .. the diesels used a diesel generator to power the electric traction motors.. those like this eliminated the generators and got it from the overhead lines.. awesome capture!
Nice capture. As I recall, the Milwaukee was known for its heavy use of electric locomotives.
Impressive locomotive !!
It is very good!
Cool, great capture!
From the dents on the front door someone really wanted to get in!
Cool capture,love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Super.
A great shot of this sweet looking locomotive, Richard.
Excellent
(I'm skipping only so I can get some recent uploads---the only reason!) What a fist this shot is. Those colors are so clean and they jump off the page. And this is a prison museum? What a fact. I love the presence of this thing, and the clarity of it sitting there like that, with hazy mountains in the background. It's be great to have one of these in one's backyard. (Chicago has massive trainyards which go on for miles; and one of these days I'm gonna get permission to get inside them, and photograph.) Really striking capture.
