Over the years many people have asked how the easy going, mild-mannered Wilf and his bombastically, strong-willed wife Winnie first met. Their long life together began at the V J Celebration in Times Square on August 14, 1945. The Square was filled with euphoria and exuberance, and as with millions of others that night, Winnie and Wilf were looking for fun, laughter and love. After mingling, dancing and drinking with the other revellers for a few hours, our two star crossed lovers finally clapped eyes on one another. Their hearts nearly exploded (some say to the vast amount of booze they had both consumed) and to say it was love at first sight would be a huge underestimation. Winnie, then as now taking control, ran to Wild and literally swept him of his feet. Through the highs and lows of the passing years they are still as much in love today as they were the night they met in Times Square.
