Description
This house no longer exists. It burned down some years ago. It was a common southern construction style in the 30s and 40s. The center room was living area and the outer rooms were for sleeping and cooking. There were breezeways between all the rooms. This allowed for cooling breezes to pass through and the dogs could trot from front to back - thus the name.

A fine render of Southern country architecture. The houses usually faced in the direction of the dominant winds- usually south-north.
Very nice!
Such a sensible design. It would suit me perfectly!
