Description
More of my Surrealism using Sculptris as a base. I think that the subject manner may resonate with those of us who feel that our opinions are not always welcome in the world at large.
Post-processing in GIMP. Inspired by some sculptures I saw in South America. I used JGreenlees' Ingenious Rock Shaders in this render instead of my own homebrewed textures.
Enjoy!

Nicely done, mysterio :) The Moai statues? The ones that warn of the rise of R'lyeh (Cthulhu's Island) in Lovecraftian Mythos or perhaps a reference to a culture destroying it's environment and then itself by building huge statues to their supposed gods? Anyway, I like :)
There's some pre-Columbian sculptures that I've seen in South America, and modern sculpture there is still influenced by the older stuff. All of it looks very "different" to my eyes because it's rarely (if ever) included in art surveys if you're in the English-speaking world and most of Europe, too. I'm a big fan of the organic shapes and texturing they use in their sculpture.
I've seen some Cthulhu statuettes for sale in Salem, Massachusetts incidentally. Pretty strange coming across that in shops that specialize in more authentic Wiccan goods.
Nice shapes ;)
And they look none to happy about it. Cool statues.
