Cool? Not sure : these cars were not very reliable!
I agree Alain they were not reliable but they were fun to drive just like my sisters old Fiat 126
I learnt to drive with a Wartburg, and that was also fun in a masochistic way
Among other things it had a long pole for choosing the gears in random order.
I saw a few Wartburg Knight's around this way in the late 70's, I seem to remember they were two-stroke powered.

PS If I couldn't see the steering wheel or the windshield wipers, I would swear this was the back of the car (LOL).
We used to laugh at Skoda's too in this country Dave until they started to constantly win every Rally in their class.
