I guess once they don't go there isn't much use for them. Costs heaps to get rid of them here so curbside probably best option.
this is what we get for buying into the disposable mindset....
interesting find
I can remember when people took their broken TV to the shop and had it repaired. Now it's all just thrown into a landfill.
I, too, remember going to the shop for repairs. Not so today - nothing to replace, just throw the whole thing away. I'm hanging on to my WinXP and my WinVista machines as long as possible - saves me a lot of money on computers and software. Who needs all the added crap they put into the latest machine/software on the market? And then we need to re-learn. And having done that, it's the same crap all over again! There's a filthy little reason computer companies are filthy rich! Upgrade! No backwards compatibility (look at the external hard drives!). Now, do we get to see Wonder Woman or Game of Thrones before this thing shorts out totally? :-)
Too bad these things can't be repaired - those days are long gone. Fortunately we have a place in KC where they take all this stuff to be recycled - at no cost.
Cool find and photo.
Someone will pick it up within the hour.
Well here (Ireland) you'd get finned for dumping it.
But all electrical goods have a surcharge attached when bought that means the shop or seller must take them back as you've paid for the disposal.
A great idea, if they probably didn't end on a boat to some third world country being melted down in a cooking pot so some family can make a few cents.
