Description
The Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park is also a wonderful place for bird lovers. You would think that bird life in an arid park would be scarce but it is indeed not the case.
This handsome fellow is a male Shaft-Tailed Whydah. He was a real poser and I shot off quite a few images!

Lovely!
I should be impressed if he showed of for me. Superb photo!
What an amazing and marvellous bird! Fantastic capture!
MY! What a LONG tail! So many kinds of birds, yet, as one thinks one has seen them all, along comes another strange one! Keep up the good work. :-)
Indeed he is showing off ... and for a good reason. What fantastic bird !! Superb shot !
Great shot through the long lens. I don't think I have ever seen a bird like this! I've been out shooting a few birds over the last week......mainly water birds...nothing this grand.
if youve got it flaunt it
Excellent POV, detail and focus, Carin. What a load to tow. One would think that the long tail would inhibit its flying maneuvers. And, on a another subject, I just read that your Cape Town in South Africa is scheduled to run out of water on July 9, due to climate change. Its 4 million residents are already restricted to 50 liters of water a day.
wonderful capture
He's got a lot to show off. Amazing if somewhat excessive tail feathers. Outstanding capture.
So beautiful how perfect capture !!
