This is one of the things I like about England, a sense of history for even mundane items. In the 18th century Los Angeles was a small Indian village named Yang Na.
We used to have these in Germany too. Here in Arizona we don't have them, at least not in Phoenix!

We had a wood stove for a couple of years and it seemed that it needed to be fed more often than not. LOL.
