Description
We know that Diplodocus existed because paleontologists found fossils of my dinosaur. Diplodocus fossils were found in Western North America.
Diplodocus was around 85 feet long. His head was smaller than his body, and his nostrils were at the top of his head. It had elephant-like, five-toed feet. One toe on each foot had a thumb claw, probably for protection. A Diplodocus had a long neck for grazing. It had a whip-like tail for counterbalancing the long neck.
They was an herbivore. It may have eaten a tremendous amount of plant material each day to keep it alive. It swallowed leaves whole without chewing them. I may have swallowed gastroliths which are stones that remained in its stomach to help it digest the tough plant material. Diplodocus had pencil like blunt teeth which were useful for pulling leaves off of a tree. It had a long neck so it can reach leaves that were very high.
Diplodocus didn't have that many enemies because of its huge size. The also traveled in herds to protect themselves. However, they had whip like tails that they could use to protect themselves from enemies.
An interesting fact is that scientists think that Diplodocus laid their eggs while they were walking. Diplodocus also could hold their neck horizontally.

Beautiful image. Reminds me of the scene in Jurassic Park (film #1) where Grant suddenly sees his first live dinosaur and nearly flips out. Keep up the good work. And nice story. :-)

No-one mentioned the methane levels yet? Great image; dinosaurs were always my favourites from very young. Used to spend hours in the Natural History Museum (UK)
