I don't know exactly what might be hiding in his hollow log, but whatever it is, I'm sure it's something good!
May the coming year bring you lots of love and laughter, creativity and joy, and continually improving eyesight! I hope you have lots of birthday fun with your family, and that your time together brings you happiness. You continually inspire, delight, entertain, and amaze me, my friend.
This log has been waiting around for a long time, and I've looked at it and thought of you on several occasions. Something about the picture says "Helle" to me, and I've tried over and over to make it a more interesting picture! So today, in honor of your birthday, I tried again. And! Topaz to the rescue! I'm finally happy with it. There's enough nature, and enough photography, and enough "painting," and enough nice light that it now seems worthy to help celebrate your birthday.
This year whenever you feel overwhelmed or tired or grumpy or at wit's end, I hope you'll look inside this magical hollow log and see what new gift it might have for you. I'm sure whatever you need at any given time is neatly tucked away and within your reach!

First, I'll get to other of your images this week---I just wanted to comment on your Helle dedi now, because it's still close to Helle's bday. I love what you wrote, and I agree with it 1000000%. You got Helle to the T. (And yes, as you said in your comment to me, trying to imitate her is an exercise in futility. Her work looks so natural and organic, and then you try to imitate it---fuggeddit!!! I did so many awful efforts, I gave up.) I love what you said about this: a little painting, a little photography, etc. What you created was this big rushing ocean of lines and forms, with forms one expects to see in a raging river. And you made it all painterly. And it has a big hollow that leads we know not where. I like Mike's and Rod's idea of fairies hiding inside. Zoom's a must---it's like a rushing tidal wave! Beautiful gift and words for Helle, I second all of it! Happy Birthday Helle, and I hope you're resting after your always busy Christmas holidays! And terrific job Tara!
(And I'm not gonna do a standup routine anymore---you already did one, lol. I"m used to jokes from you, but standup jokes? All you missed was "but seriously folks...I laughed when you came in...is this thing on??? is this thing on???" A latent comic inside you! Never saw that one coming!)

Tara, Thank you so much for this beautiful sleeping Dragon, protecting the deep cave inside the log. I want to go there and I am sure the dragen will protect me too :) Love the pines wrapping the log. A wonderful contrast. Love this Image so much. Thank you Tara also for your warm wishes and I will remember to have this log in mind and go and linger, when I need to unstress :)
