Description
After a record high of 84 F (29 C) in Phoenix yesterday (normal high for December 2 is 68 F - 20 C) we saw this sunset as we were leaving the BX at Luke AFB and I couldn't resist taking a picture. Still no rain, it has been 100 days now since the last measurable precipitation. At Sky Harbor IAP, our official reporting station, 4.73 inches have fallen since the beginning of the year, at other stations across the Valley of the Sun, less has fallen. I suspect that sunsets like this happen most days, but I am usually not outside watching them.
This last Thursday, 30 November, we had altostratus and nimbustratus (low and mid-level) clouds all day long, that blocked out the sun the entire day and allowed me to wash my car in the middle of the day. I can't remember the last time that happened - years ago. Usually I wash my car either before the sun comes over the horizon or start washing it just before it sets to have enough daylight left to finish.

Hehe! I can't remember washing my car. I sometimes go to the Fire Station when they wash them for charity once a year.

A beautiful sunset capture with lovely vibrant color. We are getting 29-30C here lately which makes it the earliest that our summer has started with this heat. It is about that long since we have had a decent rain too so it is pretty drought like here. These are our normal February temps. :)
