Description
The previous posting was rendered with the Hybrid Raytracer. 'Took about 30 seconds to render a 780 pixel wide image. This one is done with Global Illumination. 'Took 40 minutes. This was all done on a new HP762n-2.26Ghz-512Gb RAM machine, which, for a while there, I thought was invincible. I am learning how to bring it to its knees. The towers and walls behind the building are a bit overexposed. Don't know, yet, what's doing it, but there are one or two other distant light sources installed here. 'Might have to delete them. Any lighting advice would be highly welcome here.

Nice. Maybe slightly soft shadows, and a motion blur on the birds to hide that they're modeled, and you've got pretty much a photorealistic render.
Ooo. This is looking good. I can't advise you about the GI, but it makes a huge difference.
I would look at the ambient setting. Then I would look at darkening the shaders themsleves. Finally I would look at darkening the background. I did some ocean renders where the sea(transparent) would glow even with all the lights turned off. I fianlly solved the problem
Fantastic pic,Excellent work
I like the lighting of this it gives a "tourist photograph" look. The birds spoil it a bit, but are better than I could do ;-)
