Description
The Rex Allen Museum is on N Railroad Avenue directly across the Historic Railroad Park in Willcox, Arizona. Rex Elvie Allen was born in Willcox on December 31, 1920 and died in Tucson on December 17, 1999. His ashes were scattered over the Historic Railroad Park in Willcox where there is also a bronze statue of him.
Rex Allen performed in many Westerns from the late 1940's to the early 1960's, with Buddy Ebson being his sidekick in some of the earlier movies. Rex Allen also released many albums and singles, all about cowboys, Indians, and the American Southwest. He was on a par with the other singing cowboys - Roy Rogers and Gene Autry. These guys were singing country western songs way before it became an industry.
For his contributions to the film industry Rex Allen received a motion pictures star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
