Description

This 18-wheeler was also part of the parade, owned and operated by a local man. I want to thank everyone for their kind comments about veterans and I want to comment about the issue Andrew (Blinkings) mentioned. When I returned from Vietnam at the end of December 1967 one was lucky not to get spit on by protesters who, under the guise of all sorts of noble causes, hid their fear of being send over there. Those protesters were whipped up by the likes of Jane Fonda. The sad fact is that the guys that served over there were draftees, G.I.s (General Inductees), whose parents didn't have the wherewithal to keep them out of harms way. These were kids from poor white, black or latino families who couldn't afford to send their kids to college, or claim any other exemption or minor disability to get them deferred. Some of those deferred protesters are now some of our politicians This picture was taken on 11 November 2017

I believe you 100% about the Vietnam War. I never served, but I did try and enlist. my poor vision in one eye kept me out.

I visit National Cemeteries to get a grasp on the huge loss of life. my first time was in Manila at the American Cemetery. since then I stop when ever I see one if it is possible
