A fantastic capture. I was reading an article recently on the oldest pubs in the world. Baltimore's The Horse You Came In On saloon has been in continuous operation since 1775. It bills itself as the last place Edgar Allen Poe was seen alive. This fellow probably would have loved the place.

Beautifully captured. I feel for the poor horses though. Not only did they have to carry the people but all that armor.
A unique sight - I've seen lots of suits of armor in museums, but never an armored knight on an armored horse...

Oh! Is this the suit the groom was wearing when going to the wedding? Protection from being jumped by a lot of brides maids? Or hiding his face so nobody could see how scarred his face is after all those battles? Very expensive - I wonder what it cost him? Nice photo. Keep up the good work! :-)

When you first posted this, I didn't see the NA pic: Now I have, and boy what a difference. Of course the NA is more complete, as these catalogs exist for archival and scholarly purposes, as well as public use. But it's lifeless next to yours. The light here, and the deep reddish undertone, is beautiful. And I'm gonna say what I said of your (previous) helmet closeup: You got a sadness in your shadows that, to me, is fitting for the sadness of this whole phenomenon. Even though some of these soldiers were used for ceremonial purposes only (the NA entry mentions this in relation to the shield), there's still a sadness in the horrors they did in battle, and just the vanity of the whole endeavor. In any case, the reddish undertone makes this quite beautiful, and renders the armor almost a rose gold. And your composition framed the knight from his back to the end of the horse's head: A fine closing in. A very thoughtful shot, with beautiful reflective hues. (Reflective as in inner reflection...)
