Description

September 19, 1777, and October 7, 1777 http://www.history.com/topics/american-revolution/battle-of-saratoga I believe that is the field below us. We are looking down from the visitor center at one of the major battle grounds. Seems the area was heavily wooded except for the farms in the area and they provided the ideal, well mostly ideal, place to hold a European-style brou-ha-ha involving lines of musket-armed infantry. The Hudson River is in the background behind that line of trees over there beyonder and before the hills on t' other side of river. (not sure where that dialect came from) Anyhow, now time to find the car and see what else is here. They gave us a link to an app so's we could get the narrative as we drive around... couldn't get it to work so we fell back on Mrs. W reading map and calling things out. Enjoy; thanks for viewing.
