Description
This little figure represents my lover of some years ago and myself..the old bag.
I have to emphasis that this wasn't my view of myself, but that of a few others who feel it's ok for a man to have a lover ten years his junior, but find the reverse unacceptable!
Stoneware, about 3" high.
Someone cleaning for me broke his head off but luckily I found it behind the TV!

Just my sort of thing, love him.
He is awesome, Andrea. So glad you found his head :) You are right about the age matter. It is strange, people see it that way.
Great captures my friend !!!
interesting narrative and commentary
Cool character, reminds me of the comic strip B.C.
Oh, this takes me back. I've met guys like this. They are always hairy and shirtless (although I never ran into one that was pant less). And they usually played the role of tribal leader or guru. The fact that he is sitting on the female character in the male superior position also plays to type. This is a wonderful little sculpture and your repair is excellent. As for age differences between couples I say screw the critics. I've said it for years now, 'Love has no eyes'.
Bill is 17 years older than me, and I was 16 years older than Martin. Age is irrelevant.
What a great job Andrea, he looks awesome .
Your garden is gorgeous as always.
xoxoxo
Well we find double-standards everywhere but this particular one seems to be on the decline. Quite a number of my coworkers are in similar relationships: "temporary" and "permanent"... no biggie.
Yes, the figurine is very B.C.-ish.
I HAD to comment on this, since I own one of your incredible sculptures. I love this! I was so happy to see it silhouetted. I totally agree with your assessment of the whole age thing, and you conveyed the prejudice perfectly. But beyond that, your sculpture is just all yours and it's the cat's meow. I love the expression on the guy, I love the expression on the bag, I love those toes---those are andrea toes---and ditto the fingers, and the heavy carved beard, and hair. And the thin silhouette of his body---even his scapulae are carved so well. Love it. Masterful. Your sculpture is truly some of my favorite in the world. I'm serious---I just love what you do with sculpture.
