Description
This picture was taken at White Sands National Monument located in the Tularosa Basin in Southern New Mexico. The white color is caused by layers of gypsum sand left behind when the Permian Sea retreated millions of years ago. These sands shift and settle over the Chihuahuan Desert, covering 275 square miles - the largest gypsum dunefield in the world. To the left of the rest facility in the middle distance is my white car, blending into the landscape. In the distance, about 50 miles away, are the San Andres Mountains, reaching a height of 8,225 ft (2,510 m).

Superb capture my friend. God bless.
An amazing sight! I should be worried that I would not be seen easily in the event of needing a rescue!
Nature's beauty on display. It could be mistaken for an arctic snow field. Glad you could find your car!
Magnificent landscape pretty awesome capture well done!!
Fantastic view!
That's a beautiful shot.
Stunning!
Amazing and beautiful my friend !!!
perfect capture !
Love the minimalism of this -- just an endless expanse of cream-white beneath an equally endless expanse of blue, with a little house sandwiched right in between.
Not sure if I'd like to be there, though; I don't exactly fancy being in the middle of nowhere, with no food or water... I guess certain things are better viewed from afar than being situated in -- and I guess I'm a hothouse flower...
