Description
Thankfully Mr. Buck has only 5 days left of his medication.
I cannot say I find giving cats pills & potions easy.
Luckily his latest meds are capsules & I get the powder out & put it on a spoon. My son wraps Mr. Buck up in a towel, I open his mouth & pop the powder in, if any spills I get it on my finger & wipe on his lips so that he licks it.
He has been very good & thankfully he only has to have his medication once a day so we do it in the morning.
I also bathe his chin where he had his abscess lanced with warm salt water & he does like this.
So hopefully all will be well when he goes back to see Phillip on Thursday. then will discuss getting the tooth out.
Thanks for all the lovely comments & favs, so, so appreciated. x

I squirt the Metacam straight into Ralph's mouth, after his brek..

It is very nice!
Sounds rough, great capture!
He looks so relaxed in this photo - glad he's doing better
Glad to hear he's mending nicely. It's tricky business getting medicine into cats. Dogs are so much easier. Nice photo of this handsome fella.
Poor Mr. Buck. It will be wonderful when he's all better.
Poor kitty. At least he only needs meds once a day. I so hope he's much better by Thursday. When our big boy Frasier had to had a leg amputated ( he got caught in an illegal trap) he liked having his stump bathed in warm salt water. He'd half close his eyes and purrrrrrr. LOL
Although our Bagheera eats the pills pretty easy if packed in a little bit of butter, not all of our Cats do so. Therefore we got a nifty device from our Vet. It looks a bit like a syringe, but has a soft tip, where we put in the pill. Then my wife holds the Cat and I gently push the tip of that device into the mouth of the cat (going in at the mouth corner). The trick is now to reach pretty far back close to the throat and then with the handle you push the pill out of the soft tip into the throat of the cat. If done right, this is a pretty quick process, it cannot harm the cat and the pill is deep enough in the throat, so that the cat cannot spit it back out, but swallows it. It needs a bit of training, but it is the most painless method (for the cat and the human) we have for more reluctant cats,
