I went backwards, because have many earlier images I haven't commented on yet. (And see, I'm at almost 40 minutes, and I've only done 6 images. This is why it takes me so long..) Wonderful candid, with the bold inclusion of the 'talker' in deep dark (because of her dark hair). Dilieu does shots like this (sp?), and there are others---some very famous---who do shots like this. THey're always bold, because your 'subject' is half obscured; but you got it to the tee. She's obscured, but the obscur-er is the essence of her act: She's absorbed in someone else. And she has a slight smile---ever so slight---which is wonderful for a listener. And your light on her is wonderful, with lots of shadow to the right. And your crop crowds them in, to make the meeting more intimate. Open up this crop, you lose half the feeling of the shot. There's a lot of grain here, but it's a photojournalist's grain; the kind that makes us feel we're zeroing in on a very private moment. If you'd have clarified it more, it wouldn't have been as intimate. (Maybe you brought it out, I don't know.) It's definitely an integral character in the piece. Beautiful candid, Tara. I assume these kinds of shots aren't the first choice of a wedding party---who are looking for clarity and identification of people and places, etc. But as a capture of the many intimate private moments that pass in a wedding, they're just beautiful. And I think they should be part of every wedding album...
