I'm picking up where I left off...when I return to RR (after a long absence), I catch up in the galleries differently than most artists: I don't comment by ebot (or by chronological order): I comment by gallery. It's an unusual way to do things, but it works best for me. So it may take me several days before I get to each artist, because I'm going gallery by gallery. However, I see everything by my favorite artists (and you're one!), even when I'm not posting or commenting...So thank you for your wonderful and always supportive comments, while I've not yet commented on your work. I'm very slow at commenting, so it takes me a lot of time...but I'm here now, and it's always a great pleasure!
Yes, I can see Kubrick's vision in your work. You did a very strong interpretation of Kubrick's light from those early scenes of the film. And also in the colors of the ground, and in the sense of primal life, and even desolation, in the film. Great yellows in this image, very intense---like the yellows at the beginning of the world. And the apes/monkeys staring at the monolith in confusion and wonder. And of course the ape touching the monolith. A fine re-interpretation, with great light and atmosphere.
