My vote is on "crackers". But it could just work in this messed up situation.
Oh she's not exactly crackers, just desperate to make friends. Haven't you ever had a new puppy so frantic to make friends it tries to lick your face off, claws the heck out of you and then pees down your front, all to show you how terribly it wants to be friends?.....This is Squidge.
