a deceased cousin of mine had an orchard farm there close. everyday he would go out to his trees. one day when he did not return for lunch his wife went looking for him. she found him sitting on the ground leaning against a tree deceased. I know he died doing what he loved.

I like seeing your older, scanned shots. We wanted to go to White Sands, but were in the motorhome, and didn't want to go up that big hill and back down the other side. :( Too bad ... it's a bucket list item I might not get to cross off!
Several people commented that it looks like snow. As a matter of fact the sand is so white, that on a parking lot some distance into the park, where the drifting sand had been shoved aside, it looked like the lot had been cleared of snow!
