Description
This is our next door neighbor's sunflower, which I can see from my bedroom (though I took this photo from her backyard). It's the biggest one I've ever seen - about 12 feet tall. She has a very green thumb & is very generous; she's always bringing us gifts from her garden...

WOW! it is gorgeous. Luv sunflowers :)
Your postwork almost makes this look like a print: You've brought out each element of the flower with visual punch and flare. It hits us in the face. The stark, undifferentiated blue sky adds to the print feeling; only the leaves---the lower green ones---have a soft photographic feel. This brings out the in-your-face-blast of sunflowers; the kind of presence that moved Van Gogh to paint them so often. A real explosion of a shot, and it says "sunflower" about as well as any can.
(You spoke of your neighbor's "green thumb": I always wanted to see a plant say to such a person, "you might wanna get that thing looked at...")
