Description
This old bus was parked in front of the Canterbury Museum, next to the Botanical Garden in Christchurch. I think it was waiting for sightseeing tourists. These buses were still in operation in 1978 in London when I first rode on them. But then they still had a two-person team, a driver and a collector.
The atmosphere on this morning was very British, cool air, no leaves on the trees, while some folks were walking their dogs, others were jogging, and still others were biking. Very exercise conscious This reminded me a little of Bath and Bradford-on-Avon. New Zealand as a whole is very British, despite the fact that there are many Maoris and peoples from other countries. New Zealand struck me as more British than Australia, if for no other reason the climate in New Zealand is more similar to that of the British Isles.
