Description
There are several different species of water snakes that live in my pond. Most of them will bite if provoked but they are all non-venomous. I have only seen a cottonmouth water moccasin twice in the 35 years I have lived here.

Nice capture. These snakes most likely eat cottonmouths, so they steer clear of their territory. Lucky you to have these as your defenders! Keep up the good work! :-)
