Description
As a follow-up to my last image, here is a side-by-side comparison of the Poser 4 Woman, a.k.a. "Posette" (1999), and Victoria 8 (2017).
See how far we've come over the span of eighteen years! Actually, the advancements seem to be less in the shaping and more in the bending. Behold some armpit weirdness in Posette that won't be overcome until much, MUCH later. And, you don't even want to see her bend her elbows and knees. As far as her shape goes, well, I think Posette's upper half would have made Lara Croft proud, but it set a dangerous precedent!
As for Victoria 8, I shall look past her basketball player height, not that there's anything wrong with that. Other than this, she is the spitting image of the mom (at the time) of one of my childhood friends. Psychoanalyze THAT!
Maybe you're thinking I should have stood Victoria 8 up against the Poser 1 woman instead. I don't know... Beyond two arms, two legs, and a head, you may not recognize the P1 woman as a human being...

I hear you about armpits. V3 still has some issues there which I have to work hard to gloss over.
Nice idea and comparison - a definite difference
I sometimes miss my beloved Posette...
Fine image and poses !!
Poor Posette - she looks a bit plasticy here. And in a state of inferiority with V8 hanging on her shoulder. But comparison wise, this is a good image. As you say, it's good to look back and see how far we've come in 18 years, and what still needs be done. Please post more images like this. I enjoy them, but also try to learn a bit from retrospective images. Keep up the good work! :-)
My rat-ing - 6 happy rats!
