when you posted this, I thought it was a huge fractal cupcake, or birthday cake. I mean, it looks like a fractal cake that a fractal baker decorated. (Fractal pastries.) You've been doing extremely tactile architectural and sculptural fractals, the last number of months; and they all are so enormously touchable and 'real'. (I see them all, even when I don't comment.) This is layered from bottom to top, with blown out light on the upper sections (and some of the lower), deep shadows, and those pastry-chef billows and 'points' all over it. It seems to be resting on a huge platter. It's either a cake fit for a fractal queen or king, or a resort for people with lottttts of (fractal) money. It's glorious. And the toned-down palette---you do a number of pieces that aren't black and white, but toned-down all the same---is just right for the structure. It's almost silver in tone. Beautiful.
