Description
Stechelberg is a small village at the far end of a valley carved by glaciers, surrounded by steep mountains, cliffs, and waterfalls ! On arriving there, it's like you are in a cul-de-sac, at a loss at the feet of the highest Swiss alpine jagged peaks, before the throne of the gigantic and towering Jungfrau. In summer, the valley is covered with alpine flowers and BASE jumpers spring off the thousand-foot cliff edges, leaping down and flying through the air... I have a special liking for this place, as it makes you feel ridiculously small,almost suffocating at the feet of the four highest mountains of Switzerland, but on the other hand, Stechelberg is the starting point of the most beautiful mountainscapes I've ever seen in my life, through steep trails and also trains and cabins that take you high in altitude, to isolated and car-free villages, for the most extraordinary hiking tours to be enjoyed to the full.... Belle ambiance
Il y a une jolie perspective entre le balcon fleuri et l'ubac à gauche, et aussi une belle profondeur avec plusieurs plans........le cadrage est donc excellent et ta photo donne envie d'aller en vacances là -bas , Jean-Luc !

Bon, c'est beau comme tout mais faudrait quand même bien que tu viennes user tes chaussures dans les Ecrins, les Grandes Rousses ou, plus classiquement, dans Belledonne ! Je plaisante, un peu chauvin, mais je dois bien reconnaître que c'est superbe.

Ça c'est de la magie pure, mon cher Karma ! Tu connais mon amour pour les montagnes mais je trouve que toi tu sais magnifier le tien à travers tes photos. Quoi que je fasse, je n'arriverai jamais à les rendre aussi jolies que toi ! (rires !) Je devrais peut être songer à déménager dans une région montagneuse pour m’imprégner de la sérénité qu'elles apportent. Il ne me reste plus qu'à te remercier pour cette très jolie vue que tu partages avec nous et à te souhaiter un week-end loin des copies scolaires à corriger et plus proche de ce genre de réalité bien plus reposante !!!

A beautiful picture of a beautiful area Jean-Luc and your write-up is excellent. It made me think, and I realized that I had been in the general area in September 1994 with my mother and brother. We went to the Kleine Scheidegg and from there we had an excellent view not only of the Eiger but also of all the other snow and glacier covered mountains in the region.
