Description
I've always wondered what it was that was draped over the chair at the Lincoln Memorial. It's a nice touch, giving a bit of softness to an otherwise unrelieved marble surface, but it always seemed a bit random to me. Thank heaven for the internet. I Googled "what is the piece of fabric that's draped over the chair at the Lincoln Memorial," and found out that it's an American flag! Couldn't prove it by me, but that's what they say.
So this is part of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC. It's meant to be an American flag.

When I saw the thumbnail, I was thinking that you had just turned a random piece of cloth into a great composition. Turns out it wasn't so random, but it's still a great composition with wonderful light & shadow...
I'm with Claude about the composition. Your image has also turned marble into what looks like leather.

I guess sculpting flimsy fabric out of marble has always been a challenge through the centuries, and this is less successful than many, but your photo raises it to a winner!
