This pic marks the first appearance of GLADIO, a mercenary militia that can be best thought of as a cross between SPECTRE, Blackwater/Academi, and the Knights Templar. GLADIO has been awarded newly outsourced contracts for policing and defence in various nations, following widespread economic collapse and civil unrest, and the subsequent declarations of martial law.
Rather than use an existing symbol for GLADIO, I created a new one that combines various themes - the Celtic cross, the swastika, the gun crosshair, and the ancient Roman gladius, the last of which GLADIO takes its name from (and also shares its name with an infamous Cold War black-op in Europe).
