The 3 friends were wondering why everything happened to them. They had gone out into the garden to play in the sun & there by the fence sat a little chick that looked as though it had just hatched out of its egg. Mr. Buck sat behind the chick to shield it from the warm sun. Zlata stood behind, she knew Mr. Buck wouldn't hurt the chick but she didn't want to frighten it. "Where on earth has this chick come from?" she asked Truly as she walked up to them. Truly peered down, the chick didn't flinch it wasn't a bit afraid. Zlata peered up at the trees, "Must have fallen from up there!! she said. "Zlata this little chick will grow into a chicken & they do not live in trees." Truly laughed. Zlata felt a bit silly. "Perhaps Mr. Fox stole the egg but dropped it?" said Mr. Buck. "Could it be an Easter chick?" asked Zlata. "Well wherever it came from I am sure someone round here will have chickens so we can surely find it a good home." said Truly.
