Description
After my grandfather retired, they moved Into this house which was up the hill but still in the Harbour Village only a few km from here. This painting hung in their house, as long as I can remember. My uncle, my fathers brother, took over the house, when my grandmother died and when they years later sold the house, they gave me this painting, that their brother in law had painted. I love it so much, because it gives me so many happy memories from there. :-)

So typically Danish. Beautiful painting. Glad it went in the family so you could get it as a dear heirloom. My brother has 2 from where my mother was born in Sweden. Keep up the good work! :-)

What a nice thing to have! Good memories are precious, aren't they?
I can imagine how happy you are about this delightful painting! sad that they have sold it 😮
Wonderful painting, and memories, Helle. A treasure beyond any wealth.
beautiful captured and what a lovely house and painting! I like the colors, all in a cold toning but colorful!
Was this painting done by a member of your family? (Gunnar H?) In any case, it has the feeling of an old heirloom. It's actually a kind of 'filtered' painting, as if it were filtered for a light touch...the hues are gentle and slightly 'hazy'. Perhaps that's from age, but I like it regardless. And it does have the feel of what you describe...A delightful upload. And what does "Luna" mean? (I mean, in relation to your family...a family name? a locale?) A sweet way to share deep memory.
