I missed doing anything the 1st, so instead I'll just inflict this on you.... This is what happens when: 1. I'm going through a ton of old photos, and 2. I'm in a really silly mood.
Yeah, that's me waaaaay back when. I was young. I was in the Air Force. I was really, really bored. I'm not much of a drinker, so I can't even blame alcohol for this... Just plain, unbridled, non-fat, gluten-free silliness. And to think, that Vader guy thinks he was the first to dress up in a gas mask and helmet. And I didn't even have to get my legs cut off and be set on fire to do this. So, nyah, nyah, Vader! You're second fiddle to me, bro - and don't try any of that force-choke nonsense on me because I.....ccckkkk....gag......cchhhkkkk........

Great shot of you, Rod! I love the silliness, and the lunging pose, and the mask, and "Remove Before Flight". Funny stuff with serious equipment! I also love the black and white, and the harsh light and shadow. It's definitely the kind of shot we took when we were younger. And if this is what comes of all your rummaging, keep rummaging---maybe I've got an old photo from that time. Big, lunging and fun. Darth V has nothing on this.

Why did I just discover this post right now, when everyone else has come up with all my silliness lines? Sheesh! But STILL, a LOAD of fun. Darth inVader can jump off the Death Star observation gallery! Oh, nuts, not even that will work - there's no gravity in space outside of the Dead Star (it did wind up dead, didn't it?). I suspected it was you in the photo, but not at what age. Keep rummaging! One always finds something cool or interesting in one's OWN attic or basement or garage, or....(EEK! What's THAT, there, under the bed!)... Keep up the good work! :-) PS - when are they going to start rummaging after gall stones? Looking forward to a beautiful photo of the results of that rummaging!

As former USAF (SAC), I don't recall ever seeing this equipment, but I hope it was effective, as were seat belts in our C-47 while landing in the Azores atop a 60 mph side wind.

Yeah, Vader had a bit of a 'smoke inhalation' issue, but I don't think it was from cigarettes.... Fortunately that's one habit I never picked up.
