Description
There are only two Axe Heads here and I decided to draw both sides of them. I could decide myself, which axes I found interesting to draw. And so was it also with the bones and other objects, I was drawing. Of course they had some particular object, they asked me to draw, besides the objects I decided to draw myself, such as the Jacket Ornaments, I posted the other day.
The reason I could decide this mosly myself, was that I was describing and measuring and Numbered a HUGE amount of finds from a Place not far from here. They had been digged there for three years and needed all this to be washed, dried, counted, described and some od it drawn too and then packed and stored. So I stood for 3 months by a sink and washed and dried all these finds. It was not at all boring, as I found so many exciting things in every bag of dirty finds and I learned So much in these three months. I learned about pottery and their materiels and from which age and much more, which made me able to afterward analyze, write a desription of them and of course the best part was to Draw them. OH MY! The best job I ever had. I cannot understand it is more than 10 years ago now. It feels as if it was only yesterday.

This is such a great collection!!
Brilliant ! especially bottom left, such a terrific drawing!
Your collection, as all the work you've done on it is so very interesting and fascinating to me, Helle. You really have a lot of patient, but I can understand that it was very intriguing to each time discovering other things.
Sterling draftsmanship. You put in a lot of time and effort in bringing these multifaceted objects into their full glory, Helle.
Excellent drawings Helle.
Wonderful and detailed drawings, Helle!
Amazing drawings Helle. God bless.
And from what you've said, you taught yourself this, on your own. Your drawing skills in these have been wonderful. This is another collection of stones with real presence and character. And it's great to see both sides of them, and how different they are. The bottom left one is quite complex; and its partner---bottom right---is so sheer by comparison. But even it has its dark portions and idiosyncrasies. Beautifully done once more. This has been such a wonderful series, Helle. I don't know if it's over, but when it is, it will be a great letdown. I'm so glad you found these and could post them, they're a real treasure in your gallery. (And amazing how you could draw however you wished; and that they let you clean these. They trusted you. Real hands on stuff, and with very, very old items. I can see why it was the best job you ever had. How many of us will ever be able to touch these artifacts, and then clean them, and then draw them? It's very special...)
