Ditto Andrea. And, though helle didn't mention decay, she's explored it as much as Andrea. Love this closeup of a fruit going to hell! Gotta see it full (zoomed). Major skin rash, peeling, discoloration, water stains---it's almost a topographical map. And that thorny branch in front is a fine contrast---like it's the gourd's spear. It's like a globe in this shot, or a dinosaur's egg. You probably know this, but some gourds are actually edible. I didn't know that till last year, when I ate one. (NOT a good fruit. Memo to gourd-dom: Not a good fruit, guys. Get on it...) But some are apparently grown just for their hard skins. Love your closeup, and that you eyed it to begin with. It's pretty monumental. Great to see you here.
(We had a joke, when I was 10: Someone stabbed a gourd. And someone else says: "He was gourd". Gored?? Is that a joke, or what??? I had tons of 'm.)

Wonderful textures & earth tones - gourds are very cool things. Those thorns look awfully sharp and as Mark pointed out, provide a fine contrast to the gourd - though I'm shocked he didn't call it a "sharp contrast"...

I'm with Mark - this could easily be a globe with all the decay, i.e. water marks, moldy bits and flaky outside depicting the turmoil in the world today! Stellar sharp focus and the Tara touch makes this a magnificent capture Hun! Miss you so much! xxx
With a little imagination - and some Photoshop foolery - this gourd could be cut out and placed in a space background as an alien planet. It would be quite convincing!

That gourd is not long for this world...or any world for that matter. Looks like an unearthed dino egg. Great POV, it looks huger than huge!
