Description
The Heuwinklkapelle, officially called the 'Wallfahrtskirche zu Unserer Lieben Frau' or 'Sanctuary of Our Lady' is located on a hill near Iffelsdorf in Bavaria. The present chapel was built in 1698 replacing a wooden chapel. A votive tablet inside the chapel indicates a history of parish activity dating back to 1275. The chapel is part of the Pfarrei (parish) St. Vitus Iffeldorf.
The odd-looking cross and the Zwiebelturm, the shape of the tower, and the cool breeze, made me think of an orthodox church and visions of the movie 'Dr. Zhivago' came to mind.

So beautiful! many "onion dome" style Catholic churches can be found across the south German speaking areas. This is a wonderful find.

Ist das die Kapelle die man manchmal auch in der Fernsehserie "Die Rosenheim Cops" sieht?
