Description

Charles Sheffield, certainly one of the greatest hard sci-fi author’s of all time, created the Heritage Universe back in the late 1980s. In this realm, the Builders, an advanced race with almost god-like tech, disappeared several million years ago, leaving behind more than a thousand artifacts. These ranged in size from the rather small and comprehensible, to the vast and mysterious such as the Torvil Anfract, a region of space spanning several light years, riddled with hundreds of space-time anomalies. In one of their larger creations, the Dobelle System, the planetary doublet of Quake and Opal exists, separated by a mere 12,000 kilometers. Apparently, a StarCraft Terran Battlecruiser along with its Wraith Fighter escorts happened to have inexplicably wandered into this system.
