Something did emerge from the distortion. A rabbit. Apparently he escaped from Wonderland after hearing stories about the world Alice was originally from, so he wanted to live here. Alice asked, “Oh my God! How did you manage to escape?” The rabbit replied, “I had to steal a spell book from the Queen’s library. It took me a while, but I’ve found the right spell to escape.” Then he asked, “Is the anyplace I could stay?” Reluctantly, Alice thought to herself that she could use some company as well as a partner to help solve cases. Then she said, “Okay. You can live at my office, but you’re going to have to help me in my work. Room and board is not free.” The rabbit replied, “Done. And call me Randy.”
