Description
As you may expect, The Weese did a double take at this. The three heads on an altar I have never seen before anything of the like sort of. See? It's making me write like Yoda even yet now. Eh?
I can't recall any notes about this display. I was too much the shooting fool and having to snap many images over and over until I was sure that the camera shake was really not all that bad (there is a story about that later). I'm still living in the analog film age and worrying about running out of film and there is so much to see and capture. I'm afraid my attention span for explanatory notes was .... Squirrel!
The colors of the paintings was incredible. I just had to keep shooting and shoot.... Squirrel!!
Enjoy; thanks for viewing.

The photo is great but your narrative is... Squirrel!
this is a good shot
Good photo! It shows the paint work and sculpture work very well. The upper altar screen is most likely early renaissance (judging by the colors and clothing). The intricate carving along the upper edge is fantastic and you've caught that very well.
The lower altar screen is difficult to date. I lean towards late medieval. Very skilled, intricate work. This sure gives the lie to the 19th century know-it-alls who looked on Gothic art with contempt (sad that their prejudices have laid the foundation for the grotesquely perverted present day popular view of Gothic/medieval art). The 3 busts on the altar are most likely placed there by the museum. Not easy to find a good placement for such works of art. Hope you have more fantastic photos from this place! Keep up the good work! :-)
Everything is so beautiful.
