Mr. Buck had to go to the vets today as we noticed he wasn't himself. He hadn't eaten & was nowhere to be seen when Truly came back from her morning walk which was unusual as they usually have a play. We found him in my sons room in his own little bed he has in there, he looked a bit sleepy but was resting. As I was going out I decided to let him rest & see if he was ok when I got home. There was nothing jumping out at me but knew he was not quite right. When I did arrive home he was where we had left him so we brought him downstairs & I checked him out. His breathing was very short, he looked dopey & he was purring so very, very loud & continuous. Mike once told me that if cats are injured or unwell they can purr continuously. We decided to take him to the vets. Mike doesn't have a surgery on Tuesday afternoons so we had to see Peter. He thoroughly examined Mr. Buck, he said his tummy was very sore & that was why he was breathing as he was, he didn't want to take deep normal breaths as his tum hurt, so he was breathing quick & shallow. Mr. Buck did NOT like having his temperature taken & its a good job I had tight hold of him, never heard him swear before but I told him these things have to be done. Thankfully his temperature was normal. So he had two injections, one antibiotic that will last 3 days & a steroid that is just in case there is any wheeziness in his chest. Peter couldn't believe how big Mr. Buck was!!!! We brought him home, we have not to worry if he doesn't eat today or tomorrow but if hasn't eaten by Thursday he must go back. He is now, sleeping contentedly in the warm. Lets hope he will be ok now. Hate it when they are ill. Thanks for all the lovely comments & favs, so, so appreciated. xxx
