Petronia suffers from Superior Alien Mentality Syndrome (SAMS), a condition which a haughty alien believes their technological (and perhaps social) advantages gives her a reason to scoff at "lesser" beings. The Paklet are at the VERY extreme of this, obviously, as they try to Darwin out every organic species in the galaxy...
