Thought I would post this image of an uninvited guest I trapped in my home last night after I had gone to sleep. I found her in the trap this morning after I woke up. It is an Eastern woodrat (Neotoma floridana) - also known as a packrat. I had been hearing scratching noises since the night before so I set up the live trap. This one is a young female and she was not alone. I had trapped and released a young male while I was still awake a few hours earlier but it was dark outside so I didn't take any pics. Hopefully they were the only 2. Time will tell. I took them about 1/2 mile from my home and released them in a heavily wooded area with no homes nearby. Hopefully they will do well. I have no grudge against them, I just don't want them as house guests, lol. I will post another shot of this one tomorrow. My thanks to those who take the time to comment.
