Description
This is a tribute piece to the lead singer Gord Downie of Canadian rock/blues band The Tragically Hip. Gord announced earlier this year that he has terminal brain cancer, and took his band of 30+ years across Canada for 18 concert dates, ending this past Saturday where they began, in Kingston,Ontario. A moving, three hour concert...it was bittersweet watching him perform in front of a packed stadium, with many more outside watching on big monitors, and the rest of us across Canada on our tv's(thanks to an un-interrupted broadcast on CBC!).
Black ballpoint pen on grey sketch paper, scanned into Photoshop and highlighted with white chalk brushes. Thanks for taking a look, and for any comments!

Very nicely done. It was a great concert.
Awesome work. I head about this and saw he did just pass away. I'm quite unfamiliar with his work. I'll have to check it out.
He hasn't passed away yet to my knowledge, although with brain cancer his time is certainly limited...sad that these last concerts gained more attention than any before in their career! A real storyteller of Canada!
Wonderful tribute and you could not have use a better medium. Kudos to you but how sad for him and all his fans.
Excellent work and I agree that it is sad that so many people are just now hearing about the 'the hip'
Fine penmanship.
