... Zermatt !
As a request from my friend Jean-Luc (KarmaSong), I upload today another view about my swiss vacation.
It is a view of Zermatt, a charming town in the canton of Valais, and the Matterhorn.
Zermatt is a no-car town. You have to park your car at theTäsch terminal and then get a train to arrive at Zermatt.
Believe it or not but I haven't see the Matterhorn the afternoon I arrived in Zermatt because it was cloudy.
I had the pleasure to see this majestic view the following morning as I woke up !

Moi, je n'avais pas tout un étage pour moi avec vue sur la Jungfrau, mais de ma chambre, j’avais une vue tout aussi époustouflante sur le Cervin ! (rires !)

Beautiful view. I visited Switzerland when I was very young with my parents, but have only vague memories of snowy mountains...

Quelle montagne, ce Cervin qui fait rêver tous les alpinistes, et les randonneurs amateurs comme moi ! Ta photo rend encore plus imposante la masse rocheuse de la montagne, et l'on comprend encore mieux la fascination que de tels sommets exercent sur l'esprit humain. D'après ce que tu dis de Zermatt, c'est le même profil de lieu que Wengen, le village sans voiture , qui permet l'accès à l'Eiger, où l'on ne peut y arriver qu'à pied ou par un train à crémaillère. Une superbe photo, pour résumer le tout !
Très belle prise, surtout le contrast de la matinée (?). Maintenant je te crous bien que tu as été là-bas et tu peut me croire, je connais bien Zermatt.

Outre la beauté incontestable de ta photo, ça me remet en mémoire un roman de Trevanian se déroulant dans ces lieux. Mais je suis surpris : quoi ? Tu n'avais pas loué tout l'étage ! Econome, va !

Beautiful Virginie. The last time I went with my mother on a trip we also went to Zermatt and took the Gornergratbahn to the top. On the way up we had a fantastic view of this beautiful mountain.
