Description
Captured 6/5/16 @ 12:04 pm, at the beautiful Huntington Beach Concours d'Elegance held on the beautiful grounds of the Huntington Beach Central Park in beautiful Huntington Beach, California.
The 1955 DeSoto Fireflite Coronado was a springtime trim option offered for the Fireflite four-door sedan. Small "Coronado" labels under the Fireflite script on the front fenders identified this model. The design was marked by an arresting three-tone paint job -- black top, turquoise body, white color sweep -- and an interior to match. The model was soon abandoned, although DeSoto had produced a less collectible Coronado package for 1954 as well.

Nice work on the De Soto. Between the ideal lighting conditions and your postwork your photos are "clean" at this automobile event. One question I have is why there are 1951 plates on this 1955 vehicle ?
I have no idea why it has 1951 plates. It was listed at the show as a 1955 model. I Googled it and it was definitely confirmed that this is a 1955 model. I couldn't find anything like this being manufactured by DeSoto in 1951. Ergo, an anomaly I don't have an answer for.
Excellent photos. Perhaps this one was a time traveler? We live in strange times! Thanks for sharing your magnificent images from the premier car show! Very much appreciated!
Distpite the year eas odd, I think you got three wonderful shots of this beautiful car. In the older days Cars were Art. The modern cars look so boring.
