here a photo of the lady i used for the painting. not the same photo but still a refer photo. it a good one .
I went to a fest called Roots. which means back to the roots of the town and what took place like the music and all that started there. In lake charles Dolly Parton sang her first song there, http://dollyparton.com/life-and-career/music/puppy-love-single/5139
of course this is not dolly but that what the show was about. many other greats came from Lake Charles

It's sounds so weird to me, to hear people calling them rubboards (?) - we used to call them in Australia washboards... just goes to show, other countries other words and still all the same, for doing what they were originally intended for - doing the laundry, before washing machines were invented. LOL
Never the less a great shot of the musical action, what must have been a fun entertainment show to all, you can almost hear them - if you are listening closely...
For some reason, strumming on the o' rubboard just never caught on as a phrase like the o' banjo but its a joy to see these entertainers doing wha they do so well. Great photo. Thank you for sharing it.

Also, there is great expressivity and movement in the whole scene and through your photo we can feel the ambience and the mood that she created! I love the expression of the guitarist also.
