Boy. You really nailed that one. Awesome!
You know I did about 9 rotations at NTC at Ft. Irwin. Just about every rotation has one or more deaths due to accidents. I had a collapsed lung during Operation Desert Storm. I watched it all from a hospital bed in Seoul Korea. In my professional opinion, we had more casualties in a normal training operation man hour for man hour than we did fighting the elitest troops that Saddam could field. This is due to morale and attention to detail. Morale is low on a training exercise. It is at a fever pitch when an enemy is in sight. Then, of course, televangelists started talking about how our casualties in the wars in the Middle East were due to God's wrath about homosexuals. God must have really, really hated us during WWI and WWII when homosexuality was against the law. Casualties against the Germans in both wars were immensely higher, man hour for man hour than anything we are suffering today. These people have brains which get an idea and if they like it, they never check it against the facts, you know, just like feminist college professors.
Superb!!!!
Very good commentary on this.
